Just remember to salt and pepper it first

Today’s Manic Monday theme is “BITE”.

How many of you have heard of “McGruff The Crime Dog“?
He’s sort of like a mascot for the National Crime Prevention Council, and his slogan is “Take a bite out of crime!”
That’s all well and good, really.
Still, every time I see him in that beige trench coat, I’m reminded of a flasher.
I imagine a sordid tale of Scooby Doo’s unfortunate cousin who was convicted of indecent exposure back in the crazy 80′s after having a brief fling with Daphne AND Fred….
Hey, who among us can honestly say we haven’t donned a trench coat and flashed dozens of unwary citizens while muttering something incoherent about taking bites out of crime….?
It’s ok.  You can admit it.

After all, you would have gotten away with it, if it hadn’t been for those meddling kids.

I totally loved this crime fighting dog when I was in 6th grade. Not love like I wanted to marry him, I just thought he was WAY cool!

Happy Manic Monday! Here’s my bite.

McGruff was great, but I fixated on that darn trench coat. He always looked as if he should be lurking a foggy street somewhere.

Interesting take on McGruff’s wardrobe. I don’t know why the adults didn’t think of that way back when they outfitted him with the trench coat!

CWM: I remember once when I was a teenager, I saw a guy dressed as McGruff at the fairgrounds, and I asked him for his autograph. Not out of any great admiration; I was just trying to be silly. He actually gave me the autograph. :)

    Lois: Grrrufff!

    Jamie: I agree!

    AfterHours: Voila!

Corina: Sometimes, adults just don’t think, do they? :)

Gayle: It would be ironic if Sherlock Holmes WAS a flasher….

    Steve: Yay!

    Marilyn: My pleasure!
