Manic Monday: Want

This is the time of year that McDonald’s has their Shamrock Shakes. I like them, and usually I crave them, but this year has been different. I haven’t really wanted one.
A couple weeks ago I had one small shamrock shake. That was enough to last me for another year, I think.
*shrug*.
They just don’t hold the same magic that they used to.
Part of this is probably because the prices keep going up (a large one was around $3.25 the last time I checked. Yikes!)
Then there’s the realization that I can get the same frozen minty creamy taste ANY time of year just by buying some chocolate chip mint ice cream. I think I like that better anyway, plus it’s a better value, and it’s more accessible. For example, if I’m craving some in the middle of the night in July, I can go to any grocery store that’s open 24 hours!

Sorry, McDonald’s.
The spell has been broken.

Oops, just noticed that I spelled McDonald’s wrong over on your post in a comment. Oh well … cie la vie! I don’t think I’ve had a shamrock shake in years now that you mention it.

I haven’t been able to find a shamrock shake in several years. When my kids were little, we’d go all over looking for a McD’s with a shamrock shake. If we were lucky, we’d find one on St. Patrick’s day. I’m not into mint chocolate chip. I want just the mint. No chocolate chips!

Shelli: Really? Is it because of the texture, or the lack of chocolate, or what?

Linda: You might as well go have a couple of them, to make up for the fact that I’m not having any.

Deb: I want some chocolate chip mint ice cream! What was your spam word?

ComedyPlus: I changed my AS words last night, just so you could have something new. Sometimes you tell me what word you got, and I was hoping you’d tell me today too, but alas….

Corina: Really? You don’t like chocolate??

As someone who wishes that they had eggnog shakes year ’round, I just never was that into Shamrock Shakes.
I mean, it’s not like there’s a pot o’gold at the bottom of the pureed leprechaun or anything…

I figure that if I’m going to pay that kind of money for a milkshake, then I’m going to Baskin Robbins and get a Reese’s real ice cream step over lip lock yummy milkshake.
