Back in 2001, I belonged to a mailing list called “Cocktail Central Daily”. It was a recipe list for mixed drinks.
Here’s a little background for you, in case you don’t know me all that well. I love reading recipes and cookbooks, yet I hardly ever actually prepare the recipes. It’s more of an “oooh, that sounds good” experience. In the cookbooks, I love looking at the pictures, and imagining how the finished recipe would taste, but I just don’t seem to have the motivation to actually find out.
My mother is the exact same way, so maybe it’s genetic. Or maybe it’s a learned behavior.
Either way, this means I never actually tried any of the mixed drink recipes on that mailing list. I saved the interesting-sounding ones in an e-mail folder that ended up getting forgotten for years.
But here, for the sake of our Manic Monday theme, are the recipes for the drinks I saved in that folder:

Posted 17 Mar 2008 at 1:27 am ¶I read cookbooks like other folks read romance novels, so I completely understand…
Posted 17 Mar 2008 at 3:07 am ¶I’m a straight beer man, myself, but those were certainly creative. Will some of them power a tank, I wonder?
Posted 17 Mar 2008 at 6:01 am ¶Isis is in heat.
Posted 17 Mar 2008 at 11:59 am ¶I’ll take one of each to go.
I’m proud to say that the anti-spam word today is gassy. Made me laugh out loud.
I haven’t had a one of these drinks so I can’t say if they are good or not. Great job on drink though. Have a great MM.

Later Y’all.
Posted 18 Mar 2008 at 7:00 am ¶They all sound good but I don’t even know what the heck a highball glass is.
Posted 19 Mar 2008 at 12:07 am ¶Deb: I have no money; can I run up a tab at your pub?
Cheerio: Feel free to copy them! I got them off an old mailing list, so they’re certainly not original work. Help yourself!
Lois: Ooooh, good analogy! Me too! In fact, I’d rather read cookbooks than romance novels any day!!
AnthonyNorth: Let’s go buy a tank and find out!
Morgen: LOL! Poor Isis! And Poor Morgen!
ComedyPlus: I’m glad you liked your Anti Spam word!
Meloncutter: Hey! I like fluffy sissy ass drinks! I dunno if they make me horny, though… just a sec; lemme do some research….
Marilyn: I think it’s one of those tall narrow ones…? Or no, wait, maybe it’s the wide mouthed cone-shaped ones similar to a martini glass… Aw, heck…. I guess I don’t know either!
