There are woods behind my house.
Actually, there’s a cornfield behind my house, and THEN there are woods.
Last night I heard coyotes out there.
Seriously.
Previously, I’d thought it might be fun to take a walk in the woods. I’d find a day when my back didn’t hurt too bad, put on some good hiking boots, and see what’s out there.
I know there are lots of deer, as well as other typical Michigan wildlife like possums, groundhogs, raccoons, snakes, squirrels, etc. With the exception of the snakes, I wouldn’t mind running into any of those creatures.
Coyotes, though…. that’s another thing.
There are hunters out there, too. I know this because I occasionally hear gunshots. I imagine them in their neon orange clothing with their big manly Hunting Boots and their rifles. My biggest fear is that they will aim miserably, and the bullet will come through my bedroom window.
Perhaps I should wear a neon orange nightgown so they will see me.

You have a cornfield AND woods behind your house? That’s cool.
I mean, for all I know, you might live in the cornfield-and-woods capital of the world, where everyone who’s anyone has cornfields and woodland out back, but to me it sounds cool.
