The absence of TV

Really, I don’t watch TV much at all.
Am I a freak?
Well, ok, I guess that’s a silly question; of COURSE I’m a freak; but I mean about this issue in particular.
I don’t have satellite or cable; I just can’t afford it. And somehow the antenna on my TV is screwed up so badly that I can’t even get “free” TV. It’s been that way for at least a year now.
The odd thing is I don’t really miss it that much. I’ve become obsessed with blogging so much that I wouldn’t really have ROOM in my life for a full TV-watching schedule.
Unless I blogged with the TV going in the background, which I suppose is possible.

Whenever I visit someone with cable or satellite TV, I love to watch it. My favorites are the Food Network, Discovery Channel, and History Channel. I wish I could find someone who would let me come over and watch the Sci-Fi Channel and the Cartoon Network.
So I’m 37… can’t a lady still have her cartoons?

I’d also be a junkie for The Weather Channel.
Back when I lived in town, and I DID have cable, I once watched The Weather Channel for over 24 hours straight.
(Hey, it was during hurricane season; I was fascinated. Leave me alone).

Perhaps one of these days I’ll be able to fix my antenna so I can at least watch regular broadcast TV. In that case I’d love to watch Scrubs a lot. I LOVE Scrubs. I love John C. McGinley. Someone please fan me, I’m swooning.
I see South Park airs on FOX network now, around midnight or so. I’d love to watch that as well.
And it’s hard to beat The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Yes, yes, there are “serious” shows I’d like too. :)

For example, I’d watch CSI, Law & Order, Without A Trace, Cold Case, 48 Hours, and perhaps 60 Minutes.

I’d better stop blogging about it because the more I talk about it, the more I AM starting to miss it.
