Even better, when finally assigned to one of the teams that didn't want them, the aforementioned non-sporty kids wouldn't have to endure twenty minutes or so of BOTH teams insisting: "No, you're with the OTHER team!" If ball-type sports all spontaneously vanished off the face of the wotsit, it would also mean that the non-sporty kid in the class wouldn’t have to stand there while two team captains studiously avoided picking him/her for their team.
